Abstract
:
The study aimed to examine the impact of the relationship between the two moderator variables، Intrapersonal emotional intelligence and treatment motivation on the effectiveness of using the transtheoretical modal as an addiction, and relapse prevention program . To achieve the research objectives، descriptive survey methodology has been used. The required data obtained through implementing the intrapersonal emotional intelligence subscale (Haridy، 2001)، and treatment motivation scale on a selected sample (15) who recovered from substances abuse in Jeddah city، who have been enrolled in a program that used transtheoretical modal treatment. Based on data analysis and interpretation، the study concluded that، the intrapersonal emotional intelligence with its all five dimensions (Emotional Self-Awareness، self- regard، Independency، self Assertiveness، independence، and self- actualization) are available at a high level among the recovered sample، as the response mean values come successively as (2.83، 2.53، 2.61، 2.65، and 2.85). The results also show that، there is a high level of treatment motivation among subjects of the study، as the response mean value is reaching (2.78). The results also reveal that، the high level of intrapersonal emotional intelligence for the sample of the study contributed positively on preventing relapse، which was supported by beta value (-0.672)، meaning that there is a noticeable improvement in the level of response for treatment، and preventing relapse. The results also show that، although the two moderator variables explain around 42.0% of the changes in the behavior of the recovered individuals، but the effect of treatment motivation is not significant. Furthermore، the results show that، the intrapersonal emotional intelligence، and treatment motivation as moderator variables explain around 60% of the changes in stages of recovery. In addition to that، there is a positive significant relationship at the (0.01) level between the high level of intrapersonal emotional intelligence and recovery among sample of the study. The study recommended that، it is necessary to incentive the recovered individuals through adoption of treatment programs by implementing the transtheoretical modal stages، and give attention to enhancing the intrapersonal emotional intelligence and treatment motivation, as it was found that, the application of such stages contribute in preventing relapse. The study also recommend that، it is necessary to follow the recovered for not less than three months after completing the period of acute withdrawal symptoms, and intensive rehabilitation phase, in order to contribute in urgent intervention in case the recovered exposed to any pressures that leads him to status of relapse. In addition the study recommend that community members، in particularly family، should deal positively with the persons recovered، in order to supoort them not to relapse. Finally، using of different techniques inspired of cognitive behavioral treatment and emotional rational treatment, This is by increasing motivation to treatment and working on reducing the chances of relapse.
