This study aimed at presenting a proposed strategy for knowledge management to develop human competencies at King Abdulaziz University as per academic and administrative leaders’ perspective who work at the university to achieve investment in higher education, to boost the efficiency of human resources and to improve educational outcomes. The main purpose of this study to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030, and the most important sub-objectives that were formulated the most important of the study: The reality and practices of knowledge management, the fundamentals of applying knowledge management strategies, the reality of developing human competencies, the role of knowledge management strategy in developing human competencies, the difficulties facing the application of knowledge management strategy at King Abdulaziz University from academic and administrative leaders’ standpoint. The study was applied at King Abdul Aziz University and on an intended sample of the study population consisting of (56) academic and administrative leaders, where (56) questionnaires were distributed, and (48) responses were obtained from the sample with a percentage of (85.71%). The descriptive analytical approach was used in this study by using the case study method. The results of the study indicated that the most important positive indicators that support a proposed strategic study for knowledge management to develop human competencies in higher education institutions in light of the Kingdom's 2030 vision at the University. In addition, the results showed that the most important components of applying knowledge management strategies at the University from academic and administrative leaders’ standpoint such as tacit knowledge in the concept of organizational leadership, organizational culture and its vital role in the university development and the strengthening of its management, mainly the importance of manpower and better Practices activities. The study also revealed that there was a positive relationship that has statistical significance differences at the level of (0.01) between the reality of knowledge management practices and the components of applying knowledge management strategies and developing human competencies at the University and its demographic study variables (academic degree, years of administrative experience and gender). The most important of study recommendations are that the university attracts academics and administrators with knowledge that matches the occupation requirements, that the university inspires the administrative and academic staff to acquire and share knowledge and ensure integration and work in a teamwork |
