Abstract
:
The issue of governance has acquired great importance for the role in controlling the management of financial institutions and assisting them in achieving their goals and protecting the rights of shareholders, which considered to be in the interest of all parties. In Saudi Arabia, the application of the Corporate Governance Regulations was limited to shareholding companies without extending it to the rest of the financial institutions such as investment funds. Therefore, the question arises how the Investment Fund Regulation implemented governance. To answer this question this research was prepared using the analytical method. The first chapter presented the concept of governance and investment funds and their details, The second chapter presented the administrative structure of investment funds and the responsibilities of its parties also it discussed their compatibility with the principles of governance, The last chapter explained the difference between investment documents and other securities. It also mentioned the rights of unit's owners in the investment funds Regulations. I recommend the competent authority to review the provisions of the investment funds regulations in accordance with the principles of governance and complete the deficiencies therein.
