Abstract
:
In this thesis, we study the design of fractal-hexagon tags for chipless Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications. Printed tags were designed based on fractal-hexagon geometries. We have considered a regular hexagon, which we have modified it by applying an iterative procedure based on the fractal concept. We have obtained 4 tags next 4 iterations, which we have analyzed numerically with the commercial software CST, by determining their RCS when illuminated with an incident electromagnetic wave within the range 1-20 GHz. The designed structures were then analyzed numerically and experimentally in term of capacity of coding by determining their coding density.
