Abstract : The time terminology basically existsin a form of a philosophical say where it was firstly appeared in the philosophical studies. The interest in timeexpression in the novel text appear since the Russian formalist observed its existence in it. The contemporary Saudi Arabian novel formed it’s time from the reality, so the story presented as dated events leaking from in between its nights and days revealing a conflict with the recent time and ways to catch it or rejection to this time and hiding from it. The feature characters were formed based on living social models intersect with the reality. The patterns of temporal expression in Saudi novel may vary, and we meant here the type of the time construction, which is the sum of the time dimension of the events in the novel, which form the significance and the type of speech, temporal composition patternsare varied, there is philosophical time structure, psychological time, linguistic time, and Literature time, and each time structure has its text enablers that brings to the text. Forms of story building in Saudi novel were numerous, where the events and tales (stories) that consist the story (the context) in the Saudi novel were different .Each event or story has its function in the formation of the speechand highlighting the significance. There are various forms of temporal coherence and its mechanisms in the novel; there are technical mechanisms that affect the temporal structure, there are contextual mechanisms that affect in presenting time in the novel text. Whatever time type in the text whether it is the story time or the time of the speech, it should have two functions:Documentary function and perhaps graphical inspirational function that constitute the value of narrative time and production of narrative speech. The forms of documentary level of the time speech in the Saudi novel; there is a historical documentary time, time-space documentary, time documentary time of the fictionpersonal, folk documentary tale. Regarding the inspirational time, it was divided into two parts: Suggestive (Inspirational) according to time structure that are not aware of its person, such as dreams and fantasies, and the suggestive time, according to the general context in which time appears in the novel and the topic addressed by the story.
