Abstract
:
This study sheds light on an important period the history of the Red Sea during the Ottoman era, during which the Salafi dawa and the rise of the Saudi state in the Arabian Peninsula have been emerged, during that era, the convicted forces were in the Red Sea, these forces were increased by the arrival of the French campaign against Egypt whereas The Egyptian extension in Africa and the Red Sea has become the competition of many international and regional powers. The influence of the Salafist call had spread not just around the Red Sea, but also throughout the African continent. This helped the existence of muslem states in the continent, whose inhabitants were keen to perform the Hajj, which led to spreading the ideas of the salafist call to those states. No one denies the role played by the Suez canal in highlighting the importance of the Red Sea, but emergence of the Salafist call was a precedent, especially among European fears of the presence of an muslem force with a strong faith affecting the international trade movement which was in a state of prosperity, this gave more important role of The Red Sea. The study identified the role of the Red Sea in supporting the political, commercial and social relations between its two shores, and how the Ottoman state managed relations and political conditions within the Arabian Peninsula and the relations of supervision between them and the Ottoman state
