Abstract
:
The current study focused on the role of knowledge management in organizational development. The study aims to identify the impact of knowledge management in the development of organizational development at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, through an applied study on university female employees. The researcher used the descriptive method and the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: the first part included the personal data; the second part is four axes related to the study questions. The study was applied to all female administrative staff in the study population of 163 female employees. Main results of the study: The level of understanding of the concept of knowledge management among female administrative staff at King Abdul Aziz University is high. The level of practice of the concept of knowledge management among administrative staff at King Abdul Aziz University is at an average level. The reality of the knowledge exchange among the administrative staff at King Abdul Aziz University is at an average level. Whenever knowledge management concepts are applied, this will lead to organizational development. Main Recommendations: Organizing continuous, periodic and continuous events through workshops and panel discussions in which all female employees participate to exchange views, experiences and ideas, leading to active participation of knowledge. Promote appropriate methods of knowledge acquisition by developing databases of best practices in work performance, encouraging all female employees to generate and acquire knowledge, such as experimentation and observation, exchange and acquisition of knowledge. More attention should be given to training female employees to practice the concept of knowledge management. To develop effective technological means of communication to store and organize knowledge in such a way that all female employees can access and benefit from it.
