Abstract
:
Introduction: Scientific theories and discoveries have revealed numerous explorations thus the computer capabilities contributed substantially to explain and interpret such theories among of which is the fractal theory. The Fractal Theory: The image coding, based on a fractal theory of iterated transformations. The main characteristics of this approach are that (i) it relies on the assumption that image redundancy can be efficiently exploited through self-transformability on a block-wise basis, and (ii) it approximates an original image by a fractal image. The author refers to the approach as fractal block coding. The coding-decoding system is based on the construction, for an original image to encode, of a specific image transformation-a fractal code-which, when iterated on any initial image, produces a sequence of images that converges to a fractal approximation of the original. Research Problem: Rarity of studies that tackle in depth the fractal theory in depth to reflect beauty and standards values that can be utilized in the field of modern printing. Research Objective: To utilize the fractal engineering forms and shapes in image coding thus to create innovative approaches in the printing field and production of various art works using modern and contemporary digital printing. Approaches of the Study: The researcher adopted the descriptive approach for the theoretical frame of the study and empirical approach as well as the practical approach through production of creative art works using fractal configurations. Hypotheses: The researcher questioned the possible benefits of the fractal theory in adopting new creative approaches in digital printing. Results: Linking between the scientific theories and art contributes to better innovative vision for both the designer and the artist; moreover, studying fractal forms helps to abandon traditional printing designs as the fractal applications fitted in computers assists the artist in creating various modern forms such as the rich Mandelport forms hence such were used to support the study. Recommendations: It is imperative to conduct a study in order to determine the relationship between fractal forms and Islamic arts so it is recommended to consider the theoretical and empirical study of this research for teaching design in higher education programs covering various arts.
