Abstract
:
The main objective of this study is to investigate the expected effects of the privatization of the telecommunications sector in Saudi Arabia. The methodology is based on a quantitative procedure where a random sample of 327 employees of the Saudi Telecommunications Company in Riyadh was surveyed. The study utilized a group of statistical techniques such as means, standard deviations, percentages, one way anova, posthoc comparisons, and correlation coefficient. The results indicated that the majority of respondents agree that privatizing the telecommunications sector is expected to produce positive economic and administrative effects as well as intended social and labor results. The results also revealed that the expected effects of privatization are ranked according to their strength respectively to administrative, economic, labor, and social. In terms of the correlation between demographic variables and privatization outcomes, the study found that age, education, and employment level have some effects on employees' perceptions regarding the expected results of privatization, particularly economic, administrative, and labor. The study recommends that continuous attention should be paid to achieve the economic and administrative advantages of privatization and to strengthen the social and labor desired effects.
